Computers have come a long way since the era of DOS and the old full size 5 1/4″ floppy disks. Looking back, that Apple computer I typed a paper on back in the 8th grade seems so primitive. A black screen with green characters and the only thing it was connected to was the electrical outlet in the wall. Internet connections were something we saw on science fiction television shows. Back then we thought Lemonade Stand was the best thing since sliced bread. So many of us are now using wireless notebooks. Wow! What a change! I don’t think we every really anticipated the future of computers back then, but I am very glad they have advanced as much as they have.

Somewhere in the 90s, we were introduced to DSL and then cable Internet. The days of getting your coffee while waiting for a page to load were finally over! It was a true revolution in the online industry. No more waiting on dial-up and tying up the phone line. These days, we have progressed another step with being able to connect wirelessly to the Internet. After the millennium hit, wireless Internet became all the rage. In fact, many of us even did away with the desktops and took advantage of the wireless notebooks. These wonderful little machines do everything our old desktops did and more. Wireless notebooks make it much easier for most of us to work on, or simply play on our computers when ever we please. No more 2 ton monitors or huge towers to deal with. It’s all inclusive, and you can buy them in a variety of manageable sizes. From PCs to Macs, there’s a wireless notebook or netbook to suit your needs.

A great attraction to these new age computers is the convenience. It’s become another one of our little fast-food routines. We simply grab our 3 pound computer and head to a coffee shop. This way we can relax with a cup of java while chatting to friends, or possibly get some homework done in a more peaceful environment. Whatever your computer need, you can get it done on a wireless notebook. The great thing is that they are filled with everything needed. You can even get hundreds of gigabytes of storage these days! Everything you can imagine needing, from Internet access to burning CDs or DVDs is easily possible with wireless notebooks. Many public hang-outs and hotels have even catered to our every whim by providing free wireless access. Headed to Starbucks? Cool, bring your computer along. They are now offering unlimited free wireless access to anyone with a computer! You can now eaily enjoy the Internet even away from home on your cell phone or your wireless notebook.

As a writer, I certainly appreciate the value of wireless notebooks. I can easily travel taking my work with me, and it is really not a big hassle. If I want to finish an article or write a quick review or blog post while I am at the park with my kids, it is quite simple. I just grab my wireless notebook and off we go.
